What GPSR requires in every listing

Article 19 of Regulation (EU) 2023/988 requires four items in every online offer, clearly and visibly:

Manufacturer: name, registered trade name or trade mark, postal address and electronic address.
Responsible Person, if the manufacturer is not established in the EU: name, postal address and electronic address.
Product identification: a picture, the type of product and other identifiers. On Amazon the main image and the description cover this.
Warnings and safety information, where needed, in a language the country sets. Germany requires German.

You don't have to submit importer details to Amazon. They may still be required on the product itself.

Frequently asked questions

What is GPSR on Amazon?

GPSR is the EU General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988. It applies since December 13, 2024 and requires every online listing in the EU to show the manufacturer, an EU Responsible Person if the manufacturer is outside the EU, product identification and any warnings or safety information. Amazon collects these details and shows them on the product page under Safety and product resources.

Where do I submit GPSR information on Amazon?

With Brand Registry under Account Health → Regulatory Compliance → Submit compliance information, per brand. Without a brand via Manage All Inventory → Review blocked reason → Fix listing. Warnings go in as PS01 to PS06 images, as a product document or via the Safety Attestation.

Do I need an EU Responsible Person?

Yes, if the manufacturer is based outside the EU. The Responsible Person must be established in the EU or Northern Ireland. If the manufacturer itself is in the EU, its details are enough.

Does GPSR apply to amazon.co.uk?

GPSR is EU law. Amazon requires the information for its EU stores; for the UK store it said in 2024 that no submission is needed. Northern Ireland follows the EU rules.

What happens if GPSR information is missing?

Amazon deactivates the listing. If you don't provide the details within 30 days, open orders are cancelled and FBA inventory is returned or disposed of. Returns only happen if you create a paid removal order.

Is the Safety Attestation enough instead of warnings?

Only if your product is safe to use without warnings, and only for products where Amazon offers it. If you choose it although warnings are needed, the listing is not created.

Are my details stored?

No. The checklist and the text block run entirely in your browser.
